VHB Groep is looking for an Operational Buyer who will take ownership of procurement for our UK operations of Rock Solid (https://www.rocksolidbv.nl/– ) from products to services – and help us deliver value across the supply chain. Your Role – What You’ll Be Doing

As our Operational Buyer, you’ll manage day-to-day purchasing activities for the United Kingdom. You’ll be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and ordering a wide range of products and services, like spare parts for machinery, capex, external service partners and consumables. You’ll work closely with both UK-based and Dutch colleagues, ensuring that everything we procure contributes to quality, efficiency, and continuity in our projects.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage the full operational procurement process for the UK market

• Source and select suppliers for products and services based on price, quality, reliability, and compliance

• Maintain and develop strong supplier relationships

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts within your mandate

• Ensure timely ordering and delivery of goods and services

• Work closely with project managers, finance, and logistics to align procurement with operational needs

• Monitor supplier performance and take action where needed

• Maintain accurate procurement data and documentation in our systems

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who not only knows how procurement works but understands how business is done in the UK. Whether you’re British yourself or have worked extensively with British suppliers and stakeholders – you get the tone, the expectations, and the pace.

You bring:

• A completed MBO-4 level education (or UK equivalent – NVQ Level 3-4) in a relevant field

• At least 3 years of experience in an operational procurement role

• Experience with both products and service procurement

• Strong communication and negotiation skills

• Excellent command of English – native or near-native

• Experience with ERP systems and MS Office

• A structured, proactive, and hands-on working style

• Affinity with construction or industrial sectors is a plus

• Availability to occasionally travel to the UK if needed
