About the VHB Group

The VHB Group is a family business with over 90 years of experience. We now have more than 220 colleagues with a passion for technology, recycling and innovation spread across three organisations: Non-Ferro Recovery Company, Aerinnova and Rock Solid (UK). And with success: in 2024, we finished in the top 3 of the FD Gazelle International Award.

Our core values? Pride, integrity and groundbreaking. Our culture? Practical, down-to-earth and driven. We like to get things done, contribute ideas and keep improving. Whether you are a technician, driver or project manager, at VHB Group you will be given the opportunity to help build a circular future and make a difference with your efforts.

What you’ll be doing as a Welder:

At NRC/VHB you and your colleagues are responsible for building and maintaining a wide variety of machines. You will be given plenty of space to develop. You are responsible for, among other things:

  • Assembling machine parts consisting of, for example, sheet material, sawing, chipped material and laser cutting;

  • Welding of structures from 2 to 50 mm thick;

  • Modifying and adapting existing constructions of rubble crushers, recycling machines and earth-moving machines;

  • Overhaul of machine parts in the workshop and emergency repairs en route;

  • Reading, interpreting and assessing technical drawings and revisions;

  • Using different techniques, such as MIG/MAG and electrode welding, cutting with plasma and oxyfuel, gouging, etc.;

  • Machining and customizing parts through various operations;

  • Working independently or in groups for optimal results.

What do we offer you?

  • A competitive gross salary, depending on your knowledge and experience;

  • A stable and independent position in a rapidly growing and innovative, internationally operating family business;

  • A clean and spacious workshop with a large (and pleasant!) team of welders, (service) technicians and engineers;

  • You contribute to building and innovating impressive machines;

  • You see the results of your own work in the built machines;

  • Excellent career opportunities;

  • 8.33% holiday pay, travel allowance, 26 holiday days and a good pension.

What do you bring?

  • A completed technical MBO course level 3 or 4, possibly supplemented with welding training/course(s) is an advantage;

  • Experience with MIG/MAG and electrode welding;

  • You can work well from a drawing and/or sketch;

  • You can work well independently but also collaborate;

  • You are flexible and open to various activities;

  • You are eager to learn and have a hands-on mentality.
